Boy you have been through a lot. I know all about surgical pain after a long period. The scar tissue just does some of us in. If you are not taking an anti-depressant I would suggest you asking your doctor to prescribe one for you to help. It will not cause you to not feel anything but it will definitely help to take the dark cloud off of you. Are you supposed to not be working? I am on disability myself and it is frustrating, I am a colon-cancer survivor stage IV. I am still dealing with major pain issues and healing issues. God has a purpose for your life and just find that purpose! ONLY you know what God wants from you with you going through all of this!

Hang in there! I think it’s very normal for someone who has been through so much to still be feeling the after-affects. Surgery is very hard on the body and brain, and lingering pain and depression is common. I would second Melinda’s suggestion of talking to your doc about help via meds…either anti-depressants or anti-anxiety (I take those in small doses and it really helps). Something that also helped me was talking with a social worker whom I met through my doctor; she had a lot of good, practical ideas for coping with both my own crazy emotions and my relationships with friends and family. Take care, Ann
